The Crown Of The Head Is The Area
The more you learn about hair loss the more youll see this specific term used.
The crown of the head is the area. Specifically where the posterior scalp starts to slope downward. The crown is the highest point on your scalp toward the back of your head. The crown is located on the back portion of the scalp.
The crown begins at the point where the top of the head begins to curve downward to the back of the head and ends at the point just above the occipital bone. In bird anatomy the crown is the top of the head or more specifically the zone from the frons or forehead extending posteriorly to the occiput and laterally on both sides to the temples. Some people refer to it as the crown some as the vertex.
The area at the back of the head is rather ill defined in the first place. No matter which parts of your head are affected by hair loss there are effective treatments you can use to stop it. The crown refers to the area at the upper back of the skull.
The occipital scalp is not part of the crown. Others refer to the vertex as the highest point on the head. Its also called the vertex.
It is a semi circular area.
