Peru nazca lines hummingbird. This geoglyph is commonly known as the condor but some argue that it represents a chaucato. They are a series of enormous geoglyphs etched into a roughly 200 square mile stretch of the desert created by pre inca people somewhere between the 4th century bc. The individual figurative geoglyph designs measure between 04 and 11 km across.
Most lines run straight across the landscape but there are also figurative designs of animals and plants. This geoglyph is designed on a plateau which allows its appreciation to be almost immediate. The nazca lines in peru have baffled mankind for quite a long timeand now the mystery is even more intriguing.
The findings show that they decided to draw exotic birds not local birds. They were created between 500 bce and 500 ce by people making depressions or shallow incisions in the desert floor removing pebbles and leaving differently colored dirt exposed. Declared a world heritage site by unesco these geoglyphs traced onto the surface of the desert measure up to 300 meters in length and their messages remain undeciphered.
They are spectacular lines that stretch miles and miles to form different geometric patterns and animals so big that they can only be captured fully from the sky. From the sky the hummingbird monkey frigate bird giant bird and spider are clearly visible. The hummingbird in nazca lines is a hermit a hummingbird subgroup that lives in the forested regions of northern and eastern peru. This could suggest and give new clues to this great mystery of peru.
The nazca lines are often considered the eighth wonder of the world and were built by the nazca people between 400 bc.
