Icebreaker merino base layer 260 review. I like the thicker 260gm2 merino on my lower half and the less thick 200 on top. Overall this top performs well in every activity and situation we threw at it. The 150 is a good weight for summer while the 200 weight is a good all around weight.

I like the technical fabric with a little lycra thrown in because it hugs my body nicely. Merino wools wicking properties and incredible breathability make these base layers an excellent choice for all your activities including running backcountry ski tours mountain biking or even those cold winter days in the city. A versatile weight and more durable than other merino layers but with a poor fit for taller folks.

The 260 is a heavier weight and we find we use that weight mostly for daytrips on very cold days in winter.
